  1. ENGLISH 6 Date: 11 /9/2022 PERIOD 1st: A. Objectives: 1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: thu luu - Understand something about country and people in England. - Understand something about English and have the way to learn English. 2. Skills: Speaking, listening, writing. 3. Attitude: Students must have good attitude towards the co-operation 4. Competencies: Presenting opinions and giving comments to others’ opinions B. Teaching aids: 1. Teacher: book, planning, pictures, laptop, projector/ TV 2. Students: books, notebooks C. Procedure: I. Warm up. - Give a picture about London (Big Ben picture) and asks sts “Where is it” - Students look at the picture and guess. => It’s in London in England. II. Presentation. - Ask students some questions about England. + What do you know about England? - Give students something about England and English. + It located in North-west coast of Europe with very mild weather not too hot but not too cold. + It consists of four parts: England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. + It’s official name is the UK. + Each part has its own flag of UK. + There are many interesting things of England and you’ll gradually know about them in the progress of learning English. III. Introduce new book. - English textbooks 6 are designed with a rich audio and video channel. - Each unit of study is divided into nine sections for New words, Pronunciation, grammar, Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. - Each unit is divided into 9 periods as follows: + Lesson 1.1: New words + Listening + Lesson 1.2: Grammar + Lesson 1.3: Pronunciation + Speaking + Lesson 2.1: New words + Reading + Lesson 2.2: Grammar + Lesson 2.3: Pronunciation + Speaking + Lesson 3.1: New words + Listening + Lesson 3.2: Reading, speaking and Writing + Review (Unit .) IV. Overview program of Tieng Anh 6: - Introduce the overview program of the Tieng Anh 6: + There are 105 periods for 37 weeks of the whole school year, in which: + The 1st semester: 18 weeks (54 periods) + The 2nd semester: 17 weeks (51 periods) + There are 4 regular tests, one midterm test and 1 final test in each semester. V. Requirements: Each student must have:
  2. - An English text book (The Tieng Anh 6) - An Exercise book (Work book 6) - A notebook for writing at class. - An exercise notebook for extra homework. VI. Ways to learn: - Learn new words by heart. - Read the text in advance at home - Watch and listen to progammes in English in the radio and on TV. - Do homework and exercises. - Practise a lot, sing English songs. VII. Homework: - Prepare Unit 1 – Lesson 1.1: New words + Listening ------------------------------------------------- PERIOD 2nd:. UNIT ONE: LESSON 1.1: A. Objectives: 1. Knowledge. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Know some words about home. - Use present simple to talk about things that are facts or true for a long time. - Listen to a short dialogue to develop listening skill. - Know how to use the expression ‘Excuse me’ 2. Skill: Students can improve Listening and Speaking skills. 3. Attitude: Students have positive attitude in English language learning to participate in all classroom activities with the topic “Home” 4. Competencies: - Students will build their love for family, homes and community after lesson. - Build their love for family, homes and classmates - Students will love home and help parents do housework. B. Method. Communicative approach C. Teaching aids. - Teacher’s aids: student book and teacher’s book, class CDs, flashcards, projector or TV - Students’ aids: Student books, notebooks, workbooks. D. PROCEDURES I. Warm up: (5’) Guessing game: - Teacher shows chain of pictures of places. - After watching, a student comes to the board and receive flashcard of the places they have just seen. Pick out the ones they saw. - Other students guess the place by giving questions Yes/ No. Suggested Q&A: Is that a living room?- No Is that a garden?- Yes - At the end of the game, teacher introduces new lesson. II. Presentation: ❖ New words (10’) - a. Number the pictures. Listen and repeat. - Show pictures and words, have students number the pictures (in pairs) - Call students to give answers - Give feedback and show correct answers - Lead to the new lesson - Play the audio (CD1 – Track 02), have students listen and repeat

Talk about your home using the new words and three other words you know.  Option 1: - Have students talk about their home using the new words and three other words they know. - Remind students to use the structure: There + be + noun + - Have students share their ideas in front of the class - Give feedback and evaluation. Suggested words: garden, swing, basement Example. My house has a balcony. There’s a small yard in front of my house...  Option 2: (for class with better students) - Give students an extra activity: Show a picture of a house and have students describe the house and things around the house. - Call some students to share their ideas with the class - Give feedback and evaluation - Then, follow the same steps as option 1. Suggested answers - There’s a chimney/ fireplace in my house. - My house has a garden. - There are many trees around my house.  Option 3: Watching a video clip, name the places. - Teacher shows a video clip made about an apartment. - Have students watch the video, pause sometimes for students to name the places. (Balcony, kitchen, bedroom, living room, yard, pool, garage). - Teacher checks, corrects and gives feedback. ❖ Activity 2: Listening (12’) a. Listen to a girl asking a boy questions about his home. Are they friends? - Have students look at the question and the picture.

Suggested Q&A: How many people are there? => Three people Are they family members? - No Are they classmates? – Yes. - Play the audio once (CD 1 – Track 03) - Have students listen and answer the question by circling “Yes” or “No” - Play the audio again. Have students listen and repeat. - Have some students practice the conversation skill in front of the class. - Have students think of other ways to get someone’s attention and make up a conversation that contains these phrases, words. Listen and repeat (15’) - Have students look at the picture. - Play audio (CD1 – Track 05) and have students listen and read the speech bubbles. - Play audio again and have students listen and repeat. Grammar box Option 1: - Have students look at the grammar explanation - Have students look at the box with the different forms: - Explain more about the form and the usage of the Present Simple, have students pay attention to the negative and the question form: Form: Be: (+) S + am / is / are + Normal verb: (+) S + Vs/es (-) S + am / is / are + not + (-) S + don’t / doesn’t + Vbare infinitive (?)
