  1. LESSON PLAN 6: WEEK 9 Planning date: 6/11/2022 Period 25: UNIT 3: FRIENDS Lesson 2.3 – Pronunciation- Speaking A. AIMS OF THE LESSON By the end of this lesson, students will be able to : I. Knowledge - use sound changes in the question: “What are you doing?” - invite a friend out and discuss things to do together. II. Ability : - improve speaking skills. - Develop their communication skill, creativity, cooperation, self- studying and problem solving. III. Quality : - have positive attitude in English language learning so that they actively participate in all classroom activities. - relax after hard working time at school. B. TEACHING AIDS AND LEARNING MATERIALS Lesson plan, PPT slides, student’s book, workbook, notebook, personal computer (if any), projector/TV, speakers, DCR & DHA on Eduhome, handouts... C. PROCEDURE Warm-up: Weekend activities - Have Ss close all books - Show pictures on the screen (or use handouts) - Have Ss look at the pictures and give the name of the activity in the picture - Have Ss give work in pairs make sentences about weekend’s plan

Notice the sound changes of the underlined words - Play the recording (CD1, track 36) - Ask Ss to listen and pay attention to the sound changes - Call Ss to make their comments on the sound changes of the questions: “What are you doing?”
  3. - Give feedback, explain the pronunciation feature: “What are you doing ?” often sounds like /wɒdəjədu:ɪŋ/ - Play the recording again, have Ss listen and repeat with a focus on the pronunciation feature c + d. Listen and cross out the one with the wrong sound changes, then read the sentences with the correct sound changes to a partner. - Play the recording, have Ss listen and cross out the option that doesn’t use the correct sound changes - Call Ss to give answers - Play the recording again and check answers as a whole class - Then have Ss practice saying the sentences with a partner, using the correct sound changes, then encourage Ss to use their own sentences - Call some Ss to read their sentences in front of the class -Check and correct Ss’ pronunciation Answer: (b/p. 27)What are you doing . ? /wɒdəjədu:ɪŋ/. Complete your calendar for Week 2 with activities. Continue the conversation. Talk about what you and your partner are doing together. - Have Ss fill in the blanks for Week 2, using their own ideas and continue the conversation - Ask Ss to demonstrate the role-play on front of the class - Give feedback and evaluation Homework Write a conversation to invite your friend to your birthday party.

Warm up: - Introduce some words about characteristics, using characters from Doraemon comic - Have Ss look at the characters, guess their characteristics - Have Ss give answers, give feedback Lead to the new lesson. In the Doraemon comic, Dekisugi is very friendly and helpful. Doraemon is kind. Suneo is selfish and Nobita is lazy. Suggested answers Helpful: help other people Friendly: kind and willing to make friends Selfish: just care about one’s own pleasure Kind: be good to others Lazy: doesn’t like working

  12. Planning date: 7/11/2022 Period: 27 UNIT 3: FRIENDS Lesson 3.2 : READING +WRITING (P29) I. AIMS OF THE LESSON. 1. Knowledge. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - read an article about 2 sisters from a Vietnamese folklore. - describe personal characters. - write an email about their best friend. 2. Ability: - Students can improve their 4 skills (Main skills: Reading and writting) - Students can develop their reading and writing skill, creativity, cooperation, self- studying and problem solving. - Students can distinguish the differences between Tam and Cam. 3. Quality: - Students have positive attitude in English language learning so that they actively participate in all classroom activities, especially with the topic “Friends” conducted by the teacher. - Students can show their kindness to their hometown, love for people around. II. TEACHING EQUIPMENT AND LEARNING MATERIALS. - Lesson plan, PPT slides, Student’s book, workbook, ebook, personal computer (if any), projector/TV, speakers. III. PROCEDURES

I’m going to give you 6 pictures. - Look at these pictures for only 1 minute and remember all the names of the pictures. - T leads to the lesson. B. PRE – READING: I. Pre-teach vocabulary - T uses context to present the new words. - T gets students to look at the words in the book/on the screen. - T asks sts to label the map, listen and read.

C. WHILE – READING: Activity 1: Read & find the best headline (p 29) - Have students read the text quickly, then find the best headline for it. - Some students give answers. - Teacher checks and corrects. POST –READING: Game: Who’s who? - T puts Ss into 4 groups. - In groups, choose a person and describe their appearance and personality. Let your friends guess. - T demonstrates the activity with the class. Example: A: He’s tall. He has glasses. He’s funny. He’s creative too. He isn’t lazy.

Write an email about your best friend. - Have Ss look at this e-mail and identify the parts in the e-mail. - Teacher ask Ss some questions: + How many parts are there in an e-mail to your friend? + What are they? + What should you remember when writing each part? - T asks Ss to work in groups to do this activity. - T gives each group a large-sized piece of paper to write their e-mail. - T asks two or three groups to stick their finished e-mail on the board. - Other Ss and T give comments.
