- Work in pairs and answer these questions 1. What activities did you enjoy with your mother during your childhood? 2. How did your family members help with chores around the house? 3. What hobbies did your siblings have when you were growing up? 4. What sports or games did you and your siblings play in your neighborhood as kids?
- • What activities did you enjoy with your mother during your childhood? • I enjoyed cooking with my mother and going for walks in the park. We often read books together before bedtime.
- How did your family members help with chores around the house? My siblings and I took turns washing dishes, and my father would help with the gardening. My mother usually managed the cooking and laundry.
- What hobbies did your siblings have when you were growing up? My brother loved playing soccer, and my sister enjoyed painting. They both liked playing board games on weekends.
- What sports or games did you and your siblings play in your neighborhood as kids? We played tag, hide and seek, and soccer in the neighborhood. Sometimes, we organized small races with our friends.

- A. Read about using time connectors, then read Lan's passage again and underline the connectors she used. Afterward, she worked at a pottery place. She was good at making pottery and proud of the things she made. My grandfather also started working there. They fell in love and got married two years later. My grandparents worked hard to build a family together. After they had their first child, my grandfather continued to work at the pottery place. Meanwhile, my grandmother sold groceries at home. They eventually saved enough money to buy a house of their own and raised three children.

- A. In pairs: Tell your partner about the life of a family member. You can use the questions below to help you. A: What do you know about your grandmother's childhood? B: She grew up in a small village and loved helping her mother in the kitchen. She always talks about how she enjoyed baking bread. A: What memory do you have about her? B: I remember visiting her during holidays and helping her bake cookies. It was always fun, and she taught me a lot. A: What can you learn from her story?
